How We Upcycle Beef Fat Into Nourishing Skincare

How We Upcycle Beef Fat Into Nourishing Skincare

What happens to the fat from our pasture-raised cattle after we process our beef? At Mother Acres, we give it a second life—by turning it into nutrient-rich tallow skincare.

This post walks you through our upcycling process, the why behind it, and how it reflects our commitment to sustainability, stewardship, and simple, full-circle living.

Step 1: Ethical Harvesting Once our grass-fed, grass-finished beef is locally processed, we collect the suet (kidney fat), which is ideal for rendering into high-quality tallow.

Step 2: Clean Rendering We slowly render the fat to remove impurities, resulting in a pure, shelf-stable balm base rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K.

Step 3: Small-Batch Crafting We whip the rendered tallow with other skin-loving, food-grade ingredients like organic jojoba oil, beeswax, and essential oils.

Step 4: Family-First Skincare The result? A clean, safe, multipurpose balm that reflects the integrity of our ancestral living and the values we live by.

Full Circle Farming Upcycling beef fat is one way we honor the whole animal and reduce waste—while creating products that nourish you from the outside in.
